Timor Aid

is a registered non-profit organization operating since 1998 in Timor-Leste with offices in Dili, Baucau and Suai.  Timor Aid was a prominent provider of relief in Timor-Leste during the emergency period of 1999-2001 and has managed a large range of major projects, funded by a number of European Governments and NGOs, the European Commission, AusAID, USAID, AFCP, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNW and other UN agencies, as well as various private foundations.

We are working to empower rural communities and preserve the culture of Timor-Leste. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy, productive, and dignified life in a community that values its culture and heritage.

Timor Aid is committed to preserving the cultural heritage of Timor-Leste. We believe that our culture heritage is the foundation of our identity, and it is essential for building a healthy, vibrant, and prosperous country. Our cultural heritage is what makes us Timorese. It is our customs, our beliefs, our traditions, and our art. It is what tells our story and connects us to our ancestors.

Timor Aid is working to transform rural communities in Timor-Leste, empowering them to improve their livelihoods and well-being. Our rural development program focuses on six key areas:

  • Capacity Building for Tais Weavers
  • Women’s Economic Empowerment
  • Agricultural Development
